Ulje divljeg origana proizvodi se od endemske biljke Origanum minutiflorum, koja raste u udaljenim i nepristupačnim planinskim regijama južne Turske, na nadmorskim visinama iznad 2000 metara. Od preko pedeset vrsta divljeg origana, Origanum minutiflorum je poznat kao najjači divlji origano, zahvaljujući najvišem udjelu aktivnog sastojka karvakrola, koji iznosi od 80% do 90%.
